What are Shim Spacers?

Our shim spacers are a flat aluminium spacer, with no hubcentric spigot. Unlike universal shims, the centre bore on our shims are machined to the size of your hub, making them easier to fit.

Our 3mm & 5mm shims are laser cut from 5251 aluminium. Any shims above 5mm will be machined from 6082 T6 aluminium.

When choosing shim spacers, it is important to consider the length of the hub spigots on your vehicle. For example, some vehicles have very short hub spigots. If you were to fit a 5mm shim spacer to an 8mm hub spigot, it only leaves 3mm left to mount and centre the wheel. Some wheels have large chamfers in the back, meaning that the wheel may not contact the spigot at all. This can cause wheel wobble and vibration when driving.

Our machined shims (8mm and 10mm) are a popular choice on the front hubs of many Mercedes models, where the long hub spigot doesn't allow a smaller hubcentric spacer.
